Kansas Liposuction

Believe it or not, liposuction procedures are very common.  In fact, most cosmetic procedures are accompanied by SOME liposuction.  Techniques and technology have changed so much over the years that it is now very safe when done by qualified people.  The use of "tumescent solution", a combination of numbing agents and epinephrine to halt blood loss, has revolutionized liposuction.  It has turned a procedure that required hospitalization and transfusion into one that can be done safely in the office.  New laser and ultrasound technologies have also made liposuction results much better.  These technologies not only make the fat easier to remove but, in many cases, cause the skin to contract to its new position better and faster.

At the Integris Total Body Surgical offices we offer liposuction with sedation and tumescent solution.  For those who want general anesthesia, this is also an option using the beautiful Integris Grove Hospital.

When liposuctin is done at the Integris Total Body Surgical office, we have state of the art monitoring equipment and training in sedation with ACLS certification.  Dr. Swetnam and his staff have years of experience in office based procedures and hundreds of satisfied clients.

The "ideal" patient for liposuction, if there is one, is a person who has problem areas of fat deposition that cannot be lost with diet.  It is not a cure for obesity.  We take a great deal of pride in getting the best results possible even if touch up procedures are required.  Dr Swetnam's philosophy is to err on the conservative side and remove too little than to remove too much and create a defect.

We have our patients start activity as soon as they are able with stretching, massage, walking, etc.  We like for patients to wear a compression garment for four to six weeks after surgery.  Drainage from puncture sites occurs and is self limiting.  Most people complain of being very sore for a few weeks after liposuction and of course this improves with activity.  Final results occur 4-6 months after because it can take the skin that long to contract to its new size.

At Integris Total Body Surgical, we follow all published safety guidelines regarding medications used and volume guidelines published by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

The areas most commonly treated include the abdomen, outer thighs or "saddle bags", the hips or "love handles", the "banana roll" or posterior upper thigh, the waiste or "muffin top" and the neck.  Almost any area can be treated with liposuction.

If you are dealing with any of these problem areas and diet does not work, please Call us at the office (918-786-7780) or stop by.  Consultations are always complimentary on cosmetic issues.
